New PM Prioritization Information

When you enter PM as the application area, you will see the following options:

 

CAIS Project Manager Prioritization Area

      Retrieve a listing of Priority Information in print and Excel format

      Update your priority listing, all tickets listed.

      Update your priority listing, where you provide Helpdesk #

       

    Retrieve a listing of Priority Information in print and Excel format. This option allows you to download the priority listing so you can use it in Access or Excel. To save it in Excel format,

      right mouse click on the download link,

      choose Save Target As

      change Save As Type to all files

      change file type to PM.XLS

    Update your priority listing, all tickets listed. This option provides a web-based view similar to the old PM update pages. However, you have the option of sorting by Area, Helpdesk #, or Rank. You can also clear out your current rankings on this page.

    Update your priority listing, where you provide Helpdesk #. This option provides a grid for you to enter your top 30 helpdesk numbers by rank. It will currently pull any of the top 30 items you have currently entered. You can update the ranking of these items, or clear them out and start again. Once you click SAVE on this screen, the top 30 you have entered will be pulled up and you can then enter rank urgency, need, and comments.

    The Downloaded File in Excel format includes the following columns:

      Area - Banner Application Area

      EE - Estimated Effort in Weeks

      PS - Previous CAIS-Wide Score and A = Special Project, B=CAIS Wide Recommended, C=CAIS Not Recommend/Banner Baseline, D=Mandatory Update

      Helpdesk #

      Description - Brief description of the problem

      Status - Indicates status of project. Open, Pending (scheduled but work not yet started),Working, Testing, etc.

      Detail - Additional details about the description

      Solution - CAIS comments about the job, including SCT RPE and Defect numbers.

      Priority - How important this is to the application area (1=Critical .. 5= Not Needed)

      Urgency - How soon is it needed by application (1=Immediate, 2=1-2 Mos. 3=3-6 mos. 4=6-12 mos. 5=as time permits)

      Need P/T - Permanent or Temporary Need

      Rank - PM's top 30 Rank (1=Most important to school)

      Rank Urgency - PM's assessment of how soon it is needed by school

      Comments - Application or PM's comments about project.

      Area Date - Date area last updated priority or urgency.

PM Date - Date PM last updated Rank or Rank Urgency.
