Office Suite
By common consent, the official office suite for CAIS
participating schools is Microsoft Office 97/2000. No timetable is set for
adoption of Office2000, but schools will be expected to remain current with the
generally accepted version of the product at any given time.
Council attendance
Council Members are not expected to attend all BPA meetings
when the Council does not meet, but each member is expected to attend
sessions of the group to which he has been assigned. When this is not possible,
the member needs to arrange for another member to do so.
ID Committee
The ID Committee is Scotti, Don, and Gene, with SCT
consultants as needed. They will establish a small number of workable models for
review by BPA chairs.
Database Servers
The position of the Council at this time is that each of the five service
sites (CAIS, ME, SW, SP, LCMS) will make its own decision regarding the Oracle
platform. The CAIS decision will be implemented for each of its customers.
A final online discussion will finalize this matter.
NT Servers
The Servers Committee will choose between IBM and Compaq and recommend models
and configurations. The recommendation will be reported at or before the 6/29
Council meeting.
Next meeting
6/29 - 7/1, CAIS SC
Respectfully submitted
Alan W. Borcherding
