How to get from Midway to CAIS

There are many routes between Midway and CAIS.  I'll list the most direct, however this is not the shortest travel time.

Directions assume you are leaving the main parking garage.  Exit the airport onto Cicero heading north.  Turn west (left) on 55th.  55th will merge into Archer - continue west (left) to Harlem.   Take Harlem north to Augusta.  Turn left (west) on Augusta.  Campus is one block west on Bonnie Brae.  Turn right on Bonnie Brae.  Park in the main parking garage on the northeast corner of campus (off of Bonnie Brae).   Total trip is 11 miles.

By Taxi/Limo

Taxi cabs from Midway to CAIS are subject to a 50% surcharge, as River Forest is not adjacent to Chicago (and the cabs at Midway are city cabs).  Taxi cabs to the Carleton or Write Inn are normal rates, as Oak Park is adjacent to Chicago.  Normal fares are between $20 - $25, depending on traffic and train crossings.

Call Blue Cab (708/383-2121) when collecting your bags and a suburban cab will be able to pick you up at Midway and drop you off in River Forest with no surcharge.

Call American Limo ((630/920-8888 or 800/762-6888) in advance to schedule a limousine, which may be cheaper for large groups.

By Public Transportation

Go to the CTA station and take the Orange Line to downtown.  Just before downtown (the loop), transfer to the Green Line at the Roosevelt Station.  Be careful to get on the Lake Green Line - other trains use that track!  You can also transfer to the Green line in the loop at Adams, State/Lake, or Clark/Lake - however the Roosevelt transfer is the easiest and quickest route.  Fares are $1.50 per person.  See the CTA Web Pages for additional information, maps, and schedules.
