CAIS Legacy: Registration Module

Registration software includes the following features:

  • Information from Admissions and Housing can be transferred to the Registration database eliminating the need for duplicate entry.
  • Degree Audit can be used as an advisement tool as well as a process which verifies a student has met graduation requirements. " What-if" scenarios are fully supported.
  • The Registrar can modify degree requirement rules based on school policy and catalog requirements.
  • Each school can have up to 999 sessions and 99 terms during a given year allowing much flexibility for programs that do not follow the "normal" post secondary program.
  • Supports cross-listed courses
  • Each section can have up to three meeting times, classrooms, and instructors.
  • Student Scheduling provides on-line notification of schedule conflicts.
  • Each school defines its own grading and repeat policies to use when calculating the student's grade point average (GPA) and the comments that appear on the transcripts.
  • Grade options and school policy determine how quality points are counted in the GPA including pass/fail and special hours.
  • Historical freezes can be done at any time during the academic year.
  • Reports can be produced from either the historical freezes or the live data. Comparison reports use data from freezes or on-line information.
  • Two academic years can be on the system at any given time. This allows one to finish the current school year and preregister students for the next year.
  • Transcripts can include comments on a course-by-course or a professor-by-professor basis.
  • Comments can be included on the transcript, based on course or given by a professor.
  • Transfer hours can be shown in several ways on the transcript, such as at the beginning, chronologically, or at the end.
  • A note pad for each student is available for tracking additional information to be included on the transcript.
  • Grade processing calculates the student's GPA, prints grade reports, and labels, and enters the information into the transcript file.
  • Registration information can be transferred to the Mailing and Fund Raising for use in development, public relations, and alumni contacts.
  • The local administrator can decide which screens each person can view or modify.
