CAIS Legacy: Financial Aid Module
Financial Aid software includes the following features:
- Tracks a student's resources, expenses, and work-study earnings to
determine how much aid he/she is eligible to receive.
- Each school or institute designates its own aid, resource, expense, and
payroll codes. This information can later be retrieved for federal, state
and institutional reports.
- Resources and expenses can be direct or indirect.
- Direct resources include the amount the student is expected to pay from
their own earnings or savings and the parent contribution.
- Indirect resources influence the student's ability to pay, such as the
amount of the parent's mortgage balance.
- Aid codes designate the various types of scholarships, grants or work
study.
- Standard reports compare the scholarship resources available and those
used by term or year.
- The Financial Aid officer can view a student's schedule and information
about their billing status
- Documents required for each aid can be tracked. The program notifies you
on-line if you award an aid to someone who has not provided all the required
forms. Reports can also be run to list outstanding documents.
- Financial Aid can automatically be transferred to student
accounts receivable billing system. The transfer routine checks the aid
status code, and the hours registered to determine if the amount disbursed
should be adjusted.
- Student employment and work study earnings can be entered or transferred
from the Human
Resource Information System. Student earnings are monitored and compared
to the amount awarded.
- Loan disbursements may be tracked to compare with the award amount.
